Fated: The Silent Oath Release Date & Trailer
Today, Frima Studios, the developers behind the wonderfully stylized Norse-themed adventure title, Fated, have announced via a press release that the game is due to release on 28th April.
Fated: the Silent Oath will be available on the HTC Vive and Oculus Rift as of 28th April and will follow on the PSVR when it launches in October – making it available on all three of the major platforms.
Fated is a first person adventure title that is carving the way for games that utilize VR’s power to create an emotion. Fated is written by Jill Murray, who was also a writer on Assains Creed and takes place in a mythical age of Vikings. The game’s protagonist – who’s existence you embody in the game – is on a quest to save his family during Ragnarök (the end times).
“Fear is a concept that is relatively easy to achieve in Virtual Reality, but for FATED, we wanted to explore compassion, sadness, happiness and other complex emotions,”
explains Vincent Martel, Executive Producer on FATED.
To give you a taste, Frima Studio has also released an official trailer for the game, showing off some of the landscapes and environments that await your immersion.
Fated is filled with warm textures, “From mist-shrouded mountain trails and waterfalls to lush forests and vast caves lit only by a hand-held torch.”
We had a chance to play a demo of Fated back in November, and we have to say that it’s one we highly recommend. See our previous coverage of Fated here.
Fated comes to us courtesy of Canada’s largest game studio, Frima. A studio who’s work portfolio includes many household names, including Electronic Arts, Activision, Warner, Konami, and LEGO.
