HTC Vive Shipping Begins..
Consumer VR With The HTC Vive.. Here We Come!
With the quick start of consumer virtual reality, we’ve already seen the launch of Oculus Home, as well as the shipping of thousands of Rifts already beginning to arrive, the HTC Vive has just started to ship out. The Vive headsets are being sent out from Taiwan, so far the two countries confirmed to be expecting shipping are Australia and Canada.
It appears they’re shipping the product based on the estimated shipping times, just like Valve did with the preorders on the Steam Controllers. Meaning, Vive should hopefully arrive on launch day for many Australians/Canadians.
We’ve seen a lot of previews from HTC/Valve on their consumer hardware; now we wait to find out if Consumer VR will bloom, or dry out. We’ve found all the features of Oculus Home and the content of the consumer rift, and in my honest opinion, it just doesn’t feel good. It doesn’t feel like there’s a whole heap of content, however in saying that it is the very beginning of consumer virtual reality. I’m just hoping it doesn’t get a lack of content on its store like some of the past generation platforms once had. SteamVR looks promising, but VRRelated will personally find out around the same time that everyone else does.
Just remember if you’ve preordered the Vive and it’s expected to show up in a few days, don’t forget to eat/drink/sleep, apart from that.. See you in a few days inside the virtual world!
