Learn More About Project Morpheus

By  |

So ‘Project Morpheus’ has got us all very excited, Sony released an early prototype of their first VR Headset about a year ago and has come back with a new and improved prototype. Still not set to be released until some point in the first half of 2016, its coming together nicely its super sleek design making it eye catchingly cool and also suprisingly comfortable it looks to be a gaming experience everyone will want to have.

Morpheus features two 1080p screens with custom made optics, including 9 IRLED’s around the headset to support robust 360 degree tracking. The 5.7 inch 1920 X RGB X 1080 resolution OLED display expanding the field of view, removes motion blur and enables low persistence. Due to its 120hz refresh rate games made for the morpheus can be rendered at 120fps, which when you combine that with the OLED display and the power of the PS4 you get a brilliantly smooth visual. Sony have reduced the latency by half of its original prototype, down to less than 18ms, it creates a real sense of presence in the game, all of this culminating to creating a truly immersive gaming experience.

Morpheus has a user friendly design, with a single band and quick release button. Adjustments have been made to many components to make it lighter, the headband supports the full weight of the unit so as not to feel any pressure on the users faceSony are trying to make it a simple easy system hoping to keep it to one plug needed.
