Oculus Rift CV1 Preorders: Off-The-Charts!

By  |

I don’t think anyone expected Oculus Rift preorders to go the way they have, not even Palmer Luckey thought it’d go this far. (CES Interview With Palmer Luckey)

Oculus has sold out all the Consumer Version preorders version up until 28th March so far, so from September-March development, they’ve been wiped off the “shelves” for many months to come.

This really shows that even with the hate people are giving Oculus over the price, people are still buying. and I’m sorta expecting people to quieten down now that the PSVR price has been revealed via the Canadian Amazon store. It may be be the proper price, however I’m pretty sure it will be, mainly because it has a box the size of a wii to help the console render everything in 120fps, without it we’d probably see very laggy Virtual Reality on the Playstation 4.

I’ve noticed however, a lot of people have preordered, but may cancel after HTC Vive reveal their price. Either way even if people switch to Vive it looks like Oculus & VR is here to stay in the consumer market, and there’s many more games than the Virtualboy, so that’s a plus!

VRRelated will update as preorders go further through, for all we know the “Preorder edition” of the Oculus rift could take us through Q3 of 2016.
