PSVR Demo Booths Coming To Retail Outlets Nationwide, Starting Tomorrow

By  |

It’s lucky times for those of you residing in the States, as Playstation have announced today that they will be launching nationwide demo booths for the PSVR headset, and its games, starting tomorrow.

The announcement comes not long after Playstation revealed that their debut VR submission would be going on sale in North America on October 13. The gaming powerhouse will set up booths in retail outlets that will give eager fans, and potential early adopter a chance to come and get a closer look at what’s on offer.

As of Saturday (June 17 and 18), according to a Playstation blog post, PSVR will be set up in 30 Best Buy and GameStop locations. However, this is just the beginning. By the time, 24th June comes around, Playstation claim that will have increased that number to “300 locations across the US and Canada.”

Playstation has also added a page that you can use to find out the exact location of your nearest demo booth, accompanied by a list of cities that will have the technology available as of tomorrow. Check that out here.

Some of the games and apps you can expect to see on show include PlayStation VR Worlds, EVE: Valkyrie, Headmaster, Battlezone, and SUPERHYPERCUBE, as a starting point. However, the company explains in the same blog post that they will be introducing more to the demonstration as it becomes available.

Playstation closes the blog by saying “it’s our goal at PlayStation to deliver the best and richest VR gaming experiences, and we can’t wait for you to put that headset on and be transported into these worlds.”

This is exciting times for PlayStation fans and VR fans in general. As PSVR is the last of the three key players in the virtual reality headset market to go on sale. So, people, will no doubt be queuing up to take a look. PSVR is due to go sale in October and will retail for $399, bringing it in at a significantly lower price than its nearest counterpart, Oculus, that is currently retailing directly from the company at $599.00.

If you’re planning on heading down to one of these locations then let us know! as we would love to hear about your experience!
