Event: VR Karts In London This Thursday
Viewpoint games, the makers of the popular racing kart game, VR Karts, are heading to London Thursday 24th March, to show off the finished version of the game.
VR Karts is a game that gives a healthy nod to the childhood, Super Nintendo, classic, Mario Kart. Players can expect to jump into an eight-player online racer with customization options for their in-game driver and kart. Not to mention the fact that there are weapons, big explosive ones. Some of which come in the form homing missiles that players can use to knock their opponents off course, leading them to victory! Mwahaha!
VR karts is a game built from the ground up for Virtual Reality and will initially launch with 12 tracks, with more scheduled to go live in future updates.
In terms of a release date for the title, Viewpoint Games explained to VRRelated that “It may be out at hardware launch on March 28, but if not, then within the following couple of weeks.” That said, a demo of VR Karts is available to try and has been pretty popular amongst the VR community.
Viewpoint Games will be giving attendees of the event the chance to try their latest VR title on the consumer version of the Oculus Rift, as well as taking its GearVR counterpart version, VR Karts:Sprint, for a spin.
The event will be starting at 1:00pm for press, going through until 6:00pm, after which it will be open for the public to try. So feel free to pop down to the Loading Bar, Dalston if you fall into any of those categories.
