Youtube Now Supports 360 Videos For Google Cardboard

By  |

Youtube have announced that, with their latest android app you are able to view 360 video content through your Google CardBoard or Similar device.

This seems to reinforce the companies interest in VR, and is looking like it will be a further push for the expansion of the market. Even though they seem to be keeping these moves pretty quite. There was no official announcements through their usual avenues, when they introduced support for 2d 360 videos in June 2015. This could suggest that the video streaming giant may have a grander plan for Virtual Reality in the long run, and that this could be a process of setting the wheels in motion. It will be interesting to see how it develops.
